Police arrested a 19-year-old man after he allegedly robbed a 49-year-old man in Aiea.
Just before 7:15 a.m. Wednesday, police said, the suspect approached the victim with an unspecified dangerous instrument and robbed him of electronic equipment and personal items.
Police were called, and the 19-year-old man was located in the Aiea area that afternoon and arrested on suspicion of robbery.
Woman, 19, choked in Haleiwa
A 21-year-old man has been charged for allegedly choking a 19-year-old woman in Haleiwa.
Jessten Anduha-Curlee was charged Wednesday with two counts of second-degree assault and two counts of abuse of a family or household member in the presence of a minor younger that 14. His bail was set at $40,000.
At about 10 p.m. Sunday, police said, a suspect, later identified as Anduha-Curlee, violated a temporary restraining order and choked the victim. He then assaulted her again in the presence of a minor.
Police located Anduha-Curlee the following night and arrested him on suspicion of abuse.
Police looking into Kapolei arson
Police are investigating an arson case in Kapolei after an unknown male suspect allegedly set fire to clothes at a Kapolei retail store in a scheme to divert attention.
The fire occurred at about 8:10 p.m. Wednesday. Police said a customer extinguished the blaze and the suspect fled.
A wagon that contained merchandise from the store that police said appeared to be staged to be stolen from the establishment was found.
There are no arrests at this time.
Hunt ongoing for robbery suspect
Police are looking for a male suspect who allegedly attempted to rob a convenience store in Honolulu.
At about 8:30 a.m. July 18, the owner of MK Market was standing at the rear of the store, located on Lusitana Street mauka of The Queen’s Medical Center, when the suspect approached him and brandished a handgun. Police said the suspect demanded money.
When the owner refused, the suspect struck the victim and fled toward Vineyard Boulevard on a bicycle.
Police released surveillance images of the male suspect.
