Former city Community Services Director Pam Witty-Oakland returns to the post effective Oct. 1, Mayor Kirk Caldwell’s office announced Friday.
Witty-Oakland first led the department from January 2013 to September 2014. The Community Services Department oversees most of the city’s social services, workforce, community development and housing programs.
Witty-Oakland resigned to spend more time with family and, most recently, was administrator for the Honolulu Spine Center. Previously, she was an executive with the St. Francis Healthcare System of Hawaii.
She was replaced at community services by her then-deputy director, Gary Nakata, who resigned effective Friday.
