A man in his 30s was in critical condition Friday after he was found unresponsive in waters 100 yards offshore of the Kahala Hotel and Resort.
Witnesses said the man was fishing in shallow waters with a woman when both were knocked into the water.
Hotel staff paddled out, brought both back to shore and performed CPR on the man.
Responding Ocean Safety and Honolulu Fire Department personnel took over CPR until paramedics arrived.
The man was transported in critical condition to an emergency room. The woman, who was awake but in serious condition, was also transported to an emergency room.
2 sought in robbery of 76-year-old
Police are investigating a robbery that occurred in Kahaluu early Friday.
At about 12:30 a.m., police said, two men struck a 76-year-old man with an unknown object and took his bag, which contained $3,000. The suspects then fled.
There were no arrests as of Friday.
Pedestrian injured crossing in Liliha
Emergency Medical Services reported a 24-year-old pedestrian was seriously injured Thursday evening in Liliha.
EMS said the accident occurred at 6:04 p.m. in the intersection of Palama and North School streets. She was treated and transported in serious condition to a hospital.
Man arrested in Kalihi sex assault
Police arrested a 45-year-old man after he allegedly sexually assaulted a 55-year-old woman in Kalihi.
The assault occurred on the night of June 15. Police said the suspect and victim are acquaintances.
The 45-year-old man was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of two counts of first-degree sexual assault.
The investigation is ongoing.
