Police say a 38-year-old man threatened and restrained a woman during an incident that lasted more than 12 hours before fleeing in her car Saturday in Pearl City.
The man used a dangerous instrument to threaten the 47-year-old woman and held her against her will between 1 a.m. and 3 p.m. Saturday, police said.
Police were called after the man left, and officers documented the incident. No arrests were made, but police opened investigations into kidnapping, first-degree terroristic threatening and second-degree theft.
Workers find bone buried in Waikiki
Authorities recovered a large bone from a construction site Sunday morning in Waikiki, police said.
Hawaiian Electric Co. workers unearthed the bone while digging a hole at a construction site near Lipeepee Street and Ala Wai Boulevard at about 1:35 a.m.
Police said the bone possibly came from a cow or a horse, but workers called police out of caution.
State officials could not be reached, so the Honolulu Medical Examiner’s Office recovered the bone for examination.
Man hit repeatedly in Kapolei robbery
A 67-year-old man was attacked Saturday morning during a robbery in Kapolei.
Police said the man was approached at about 7:35 a.m. by an unknown male who demanded money. When the victim refused to give the male money, the male punched him in the face multiple times, police said.
The male ran away without getting any cash. Police opened a first-degree robbery investigation.
Woman charged with abusing husband
A 34-year-old woman has been charged with allegedly abusing her husband Friday night in Makakilo.
Police said the woman assaulted her 35-year-old husband with a dangerous instrument at about 11:35 p.m. Friday.
She was arrested for investigation of assault a short time later in the 92-1400 block of Makakilo Drive.
The woman was charged Saturday with the lesser offense of misdemeanor abuse of a household member, and her bail was set at $1,000.
Woman released amid road rage inquiry
A 30-year-old woman has been released in connection with a road rage incident in Kalaeloa on Saturday that led to an attempted-murder investigation, police said.
The incident began when two drivers got into a fistfight over a traffic incident at about 11:40 a.m. Saturday. The woman, who was a passenger in one of the vehicles, got into the driver’s seat and attempted to run down the other driver, a 39-year-old man, police said.
The woman was booked on suspicion of second-degree attempted murder but was released pending investigation into that offense. She was also arrested for three contempt warrants, and her bail for those warrants was set at $950.
