Maui’s housing market in July had fewer sales but at higher prices, according to data released Friday by the Realtors Association of Maui.
The median price for previously owned and new homes on the Valley Isle rose 17 percent to $702,000 last month from $600,000 a year earlier.
July’s price gain was largely a function of a relatively low median price in July 2016. This year the median price was at or over $700,000 in March, May, June and July. Last year the median price was over $600,000 in every month except July and February.
The number of single-family home sales last month slipped by 2 percent to 91 from 93.
In Maui’s condominium market, the median price edged up almost 1 percent to $442,500 last month from $440,000 a year earlier. There were 100 condo sales, down 10 percent from 111 a year earlier.
