The nonprofit Hawaiian Islands Land Trust plans to acquire a conservation easement on a 6-acre taro farm in Hana, Maui, shown here. The trust was awarded $210,000 from the Legacy Land Conservation Program in May to help with the $516,617 easement purchase, but the award money is delayed because of a funding problem with the program.
