1. Oahu artist Barbara KaMille’s love for Hawaii’s native culture and natural beauty has always influenced her works, which include sculptures of sumo champion Akebono in Waimanalo and Hawaiian kapa cloth expert Puanani Van Dorpe at the Hilton Hawaiian Village. But it’s her art of turning traditional baby portraits into visually captivating scenes that is attracting parents.
Using watercolors to create mystical backdrops for her photos, KaMille transforms moms into beautiful mermaids and dads into their Hawaiian aumakua, while little ones appear to ride atop sea turtles and dolphins. The finished creations are printed on canvas for artful display.
Prices vary; find KaMille at Booth 331 or visit arttotouchyourheart.com.
2. Mom and Dad might not be able to afford a Lamborghini Aventador, Maserati GranCabrio or Jaguar F-Type, but keiki will be able to get behind the wheel of pint-sized versions of these luxury cars at the Baby & Toddler Speedway. For $10, kids can ride for about five minutes on the indoor track. And if they’re too young to navigate traffic, adults can drive the electric cars for them via remote control.

Other entertainment options in the exhibition hall’s Main Stage on both days include an 11 a.m. Super Heroes Show, noon Magic Show, 3 p.m. Princess Show and 4 p.m. “Your Baby Can Learn” presentation.
5. Inflatable bounce houses are a mainstay of kiddie birthday parties but the roughhousing isn’t always safe for small children. Keiki Climbers is debuting a lineup of soft play rentals designed for kids 6 months to 4 years old.
Available for rent are block sets, ride-on hoppers, tunnel climbers, toddler-sized ball pools, and foam play islands and arch climbers. Rates start at $195 for four hours of play with four items in an 8-by-8-foot space designed for three kids, up to $525 for 15 different items in a 12-by-26-foot space.
