Since opening in February, Yauatcha has consistently found a place on top of best new restaurant lists. If you haven’t yet visited, the all-day dim sum restaurant offers an easy introduction with its Yum Cha afternoon set menu.
Available between 3 and 5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays, the $32 menu starts with a pot of tea, a choice of a regular or vegetarian menu of assorted dim sum, and ends with dessert.
The regular menu features a dim sum basket with a Phoenix tail shrimp shu mai, pork and prawn shu mai, har gau and char siu bun, plus shrimp and gai lan cheung fun and fried specialties of a roasted duck pumpkin puff and crab and kalo croquette. Dessert is a choice of Raspberry Delice cake or a refreshing lilikoi and pineapple Tropical Dome.
Vegetarians will enjoy a dim sum basket containing two each of bamboo and chive flower dumplings, plus three mushroom cheung fun and two pan-seared Shanghai dumplings. Dessert options are a choice of a Chocolate Pebble brownie with caramelized white chocolate or Apple Vanilla Choux.
