Junior forward Caitlin Tatemichi notched two goals in a 3-1 win over Academy of Art on Tuesday to become the all-time leading goal scorer for the Chaminade women’s soccer program.
The Roosevelt graduate has recorded 12 goals for the Silverswords (3-4, 2-2 PacWest), passing Twyla Hamasaki’s 11 goals from 2012 to 2015. Tatemichi also earned PacWest Conference player of the week honors on Monday.
Megan McClanahan scored Chaminade’s other goal in the win over the Urban Knights (0-8-1, 0-4 PacWest). Brandee Lane finished with five saves.

Redshirt junior Lucy Maino scored her first goal of the season on a corner kick in the 26th minute. Kayela Santiago earned the assist as the Vulcans took the lead. Carlie Reader secured the win in the second half with a cross past the goalkeeper.
UHH outshot the Hawks 14-4, with 10 shots on goal compared to two. Holy Names fell to 0-8-1 overall and 0-3-1 in conference play.
Ezekiel Lau advances in Cascais Pro
Honolulu’s Ezekiel Lau edged Aussie Ryan Callinan to qualify for Round 5 in the Billabong Pro Cascais in Cascais, Portugal. Lau scored a 9.97, finishing second to Brazil’s Jesse Mendes (13.33) in the Round 4 heat.
Only a dozen surfers competed in 6- t0 8-foot waves on Tuesday, while four more local surfers wait to kick off Round 5 today, surf permitting. Keanu Asing will battle Italo Ferreira in the third heat of the day, while Lau takes on Alejo Muniz in the last heat of Round 5.
On the women’s side, Tatiana Weston-Webb and Malia Manuel will square off in the third quarterfinal heat, while Carissa Moore faces Sage Erickson in Heat 4.
Silverswords blank Academy of Art
The Chaminade men’s soccer squad earned a 2-0 win over Academy of Art on Tuesday at Saint Louis Field. Senior midfielder Ruben Taks and sophomore midfielder Nick Kraus scored in the Silverswords’ first conference win. Jayson Abe became the program’s all-time winningest coach with the victory.
Taks scored in the 11th minute on a pass from Kaiser graduate Micah Mokulehua from 15 yards out. The score remained 1-0 until the 51st minute, when Makoto Shoji passed a through-ball to Kraus, who chipped it in past AAU’s reserve keeper for his second goal of the season.
Bobby Gutierrez led the Urban Knights (3-4-1, 2-2-0 PacWest) with one shot on goal.

The Vulcans (0-8, 0-5 PacWest) took an early 1-0 lead after Bryan Reynoso’s first goal of the season. UHH’s Jesus Ortega earned the assist on a pass from 30 yards out. Carlos Vazquez-Perez tied it up for the Hawks (2-6-1, 2-1-1 PacWest) with a goal in the final minutes of the first half.
