CrimeStoppers and Honolulu police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who attempted to kidnap a 10-year-old boy in Ewa Beach.
About 7 a.m. Sept. 19, police and the Department of Education said the boy was walking on Kaipalaoa Street, heading to Keoneula Elementary School, when a man in a black four-door pickup truck, possibly a Toyota, coaxed him to get inside.
The man then grabbed the child and attempted to pull him into the truck, but the boy managed to get away. He reported the incident to his parents and school staff.
The would-be kidnapper is described as 30 to 40 years old, 5-foot-8 to 6 feet tall with a medium build. He has black hair and brown eyes. Police said he also has multiple tattoos: an octopus and shark on his neck, a Hawaiian design on each side of his face and tattoos covering both forearms.
Anyone with information is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 955-8300.
