Police have opened an attempted second-degree murder investigation after a 21-year-old man sustained critical injuries in an attack in Waikiki.
At about 1:30 a.m. Friday at the intersection of Kalakaua Avenue and Lewers Street, police said, a 21-year-old man sustained multiple stab wounds to his body and blunt trauma to his head. A baseball bat was allegedly used in the attack.
Emergency Medical Services transported the victim in critical condition to a hospital.
A trail of blood was observed on the sidewalk adjacent to Max Mara, a women’s clothing store.
Police said the victim is from Schofield Barracks. At least two suspects were involved. Police said a 14-year-old boy was taken into custody.
