A developer held a ceremony Tuesday to kick off construction of a third hotel in Kapolei, a 183-room Residence Inn by Marriott.
The four-story hotel is estimated to cost more than $60 million, and when completed will join a neighboring 180-room Embassy Suites by Hilton scheduled for a grand opening today. A Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton also opened last year at Ka Makana Alii, a regional mall in Oahu’s “Second City.”
A partnership among three mainland companies, Western States Lodging, Thackeray Garn Co. and American National Insurance Co., are developing the Residence Inn. Western States and Thackeray Garn also developed the Embassy Suites.
