‘Iolani graduate Lorens Chan took fourth at the Web.com first-stage qualifier in Dayton, Nev., on Friday. The two-time Hawaii state high school champ shot 14-under 274 to advance.
The top 22 and ties moved on. Mililani alum Jared Sawada tied for 27th at 286, after a final-round 75.
Tadd Fujikawa, a Moanalua graduate, grabbed one of the last qualifying spots at Kannapolis, N.C. Fujikawa was 11 under and near the top before closing with a 75 Friday. He tied for 22nd.
Second-stage tournaments start Oct. 31.
John Oda, another two-time state high school champ, won the San Diego qualifier earlier this month. Seabury Hall grad Alex Chiarella also advanced.
