Hawaii island police have arrested Matthew Cummings, 36, of Honaunau following several counterfeiting investigations.
Kona patrol officers located and arrested Cummings on Wednesday afternoon in the Kealakekua area.
After detectives executed search warrants on Cummings’ vehicle, personal property and Honaunau residence, they recovered two counterfeit bills, photocopies of counterfeit bills, components used to create counterfeit bills, 198 grams of suspected marijuana and an unspent ammunition round.
On Friday, Cummings was charged with five counts of first-degree forgery, four counts of fourth-degree theft and one count of third-degree promotion of detrimental drugs. His total bail has been set at $130,000.
