Trey Ingram added 20 points and Denhym Brooke came off the bench for a double-double (14 points, 10 rebounds) for the Vulcans (1-1). The Vikings fell to 1-1.

Allen lifts HPU women to road victory
Brittany Allen scored 29 points, including going 5-for-9 from 3-point range, as the Hawaii Pacific women’s basketball team defeated Central Washington 77-68 on Saturday in the Wildcat Crossover Classic in Ellensburg, Wash.
Janessa Manzano added 17 points for the Sharks (1-1). The Wildcats dropped to 1-1.

Tecklenburg, Reedy lead Sharks’ sweep
Emma Tecklenburg had 12 kills and Rachel Reedy added 10 as the Chaminade volleyball team beat Dominican 25-21, 28-26, 25-18 on Saturday in San Rafael, Calif.
Skyler Curry recorded 23 assists for the Silverswords (15-11, 10-8 PacWest). The Penguins dropped to 9-17, 8-10.

Schremmer tied for 21st in Houston
Honolulu’s Patricia Schremmer is tied for 21st after shooting an opening-round 4-over-par 76 at the U.S. Women’s Mid-Amateur Championship on Saturday in Houston.
Schremmer is seven strokes behind the leaders at the Champions Golf Club’s Cypress Creek Course.
The top 64 after two rounds of stroke play will qualify for match play.
