Two pitchers and two catchers comprised the University of Hawaii softball team’s signing class announced Monday.
The Rainbow Wahine received National Letters of Intent from pitchers Isabella “Izzy” Dino and Ashley Murphy and catchers Kaeli Bush and Mikaela Gandia-Mak.
Dino, a 6-foot-2 right-hander from West Vancouver Secondary, is UH coach Bob Coolen’s first recruit from Canada and was a member of the U-17 Canadian national team. Murphy, also a right-hander, went 4-2 with a 1.11 earned-run average as a junior at El Camino Real Charter (Calif.) High School. Bush hit .425 and drove in 24 runs for Notre Dame High School in Salinas, Calif. Gandia-Mak hit .378 at San Clemente (Calif.) High School.
