High surf advisory extended for east-facing shores
A National Weather Service high surf advisory for east-facing shores of Oahu, Kauai, Molokai, Maui and the Big Island was extended until at least 6 a.m. today.
Weather officials said Wednesday they expected surf along those shores to reach between 6 to 10 feet with moderate impacts and strong breaking waves. Strong longshore and rip currents make swimming difficult and dangerous.
