There are two more job fairs coming up for former Island Air employees.
American Savings Bank and Aulani Disney Resort are among the 20 companies that will be present at the government-sponsored Job and Resource Fair for former Island Air employees on Tuesday, according to Mayor Kirk Caldwell.
The Oahu Workforce Development Board and Department of Community Services American Job Center Hawaii are holding the fair from 9 a.m. to noon at Dillingham Shopping Plaza, 1505 Dillingham Blvd., Suites 110 and 206. The fair is open to all job seekers from noon to 1 p.m., with free admission and parking.
“Oahu’s unemployment rate is at historically low levels and it’s my hope that former Island Air employees taking part in the Job and Resource Fair can find a position of their choice and bring comfort to their families during the holiday season,” said Caldwell in a statement.
The 20 employers, which also include Makani Kai Air and the state Department of Human Services, are looking to recruit for about 250 openings that range from accounting to office administration, sales and transportation workers.
Applicants are advised to arrive in professional attire with copies of their resume. Community colleges, public and private organizations, and information on financial assistance programs also will be available.
Another job fair will be held Thursday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Daniel K. Inouye International Airport’s interisland conference center on the seventh floor. There will be an employee list upon check-in. Bring copies of a current resume, photo ID, and wear appropriate interview attire. More than 25 employees will be attending.
