The trustee overseeing the Island Air bankruptcy liquidation has subpoenaed all the records of the former owners of the now-defunct carrier beginning with the year prior to the change of ownership.
Chapter 7 trustee Elizabeth Kane is seeking all documents, including financial records, letters, emails, recordings, computer disks, computer tapes, letters, tape recordings and voicemails from Jan. 1, 2015, to the present. The motions for subpoenas were filed Monday and approved. No reason was cited for the subpoenas.
Island Air, which ceased operations Nov. 10, was owned by PaCap Aviation Finance LLC and Malama Investments LLC, two investment groups led by Honolulu venture capitalist Jeffrey Au; and Ohana Airline Holdings LLC, the company owned by billionaire Larry Ellison. Ohana subsidiary Carbonview Limited LLC also was involved with the operation. All documents related to Ellison’s company buying Island Air in February 2013 also are being subpoenaed.
Au’s two investment groups bought a controlling interest of Island Air from Ohana Airline Holdings on Jan. 6, 2016. The deal closed about a month later.
The trustee has requested that all documents be delivered by 4 p.m. Feb. 8.
