Hawaiian Airlines reinstated daily nonstop service Friday between Portland, Ore., and Maui.
The state’s largest carrier, using its new 189-passenger narrow-body A321neo aircraft, previously had operated the route for nearly a decade between 2003 and 2012.
Guests were treated to Hawaiian music and dance, flower lei and a certificate for 250 bonus Hawaiian miles.
The new service complements Hawaiian’s flights between Portland and Honolulu. The Portland-Maui flight departs Portland International Airport at 8 a.m. daily and arrives at Kahului Airport at noon. The flight from Kahului departs at 1:15 p.m. and arrives in Portland at 8:25 p.m.
