Two streaks were extended and two girls made history at the Hawaiian Airlines/HHSAA Canoe Paddling State Championships on Saturday.
Punahou is the first school to claim four consecutive boys titles and Seabury Hall won its third straight mixed state championship at Hilo Bay on the Big Island.
Seabury Hall seniors Taysia Pimental and Kaya Givensel are the first female paddlers to win four gold medals after leading the Spartans to a win over Kamehameha-Maui in the mixed division by nearly five seconds.
They teamed with Kai Ponting, Kainalu Kubo, Shea Stisher and Dylan Newbro to finish the race in 3 minutes, 57.76 seconds, beating out Kamehameha-Maui and Keaau.
Pimental and Givensel won three mixed titles and one girls crown, which came last year.
Tyler Meditz of Kamehameha holds the record for most gold medals with five.
The Punahou boys team of senior Riley Lathrop, juniors Gabriel El Hajji, Trevor Hemmings and Isaac Miller and sophomores Aukina Hunt and James Morris finished the race in 3:45.10 to beat runner-up Seabury Hall and Kalaheo.
The Buffanblu girls won the state title for the first time since 2015 and fifth overall, trailing only the eight won by Kamehameha. Senior Olivia Klem, juniors Kaya Lee, Pomai Ogata and Grace Blanchette, sophomore Dillyn Lietzke and freshman Mehana Leafchild finished the race in 4:16.63, beating Kamehameha by nearly seven seconds.
