Ilinahe Beatty scored in the 74th minute and Makua Lani beat Radford 2-1 in the first round of the HHSAA Division II girls soccer tournament on Wednesday at Waipio Peninsula Soccer Park.
Hannah Heffelfinger grabbed the lead for the Rams in the 44th minute, Radford’s first goal in the tournament since 2012, but Halle Nottage responded three minutes later to equalize it for the Lions.
Makua Lani moves on to play Kapaa today at 3 p.m.

Chae-Leigh Ramirez scored in the 61st minute and the Mules dropped the Bulldogs.
Leilehua next plays top-seeded Kamehameha-Hawaii.

Kauai plays OIA champion Kailua today.
Hawaii Prep def. Nanakuli, forfeit
Hawaii Prep earned a free trip to the quarterfinals when Nanakuli forfeited due to a lack of eligible players.
The win gives the defending state champions their 15th straight win in the state tournament. Ka Makani has not lost a match at states since the 2013 state final against Mid-Pacific.
