Bankoh’s Tanoue plans to retire in late March

Bank of Hawaii Vice Chairwoman Donna Tanoue, president of the Bank of Hawaii Foundation, announced Monday that she will retire from the bank March 23.

“Donna has had a stellar career here and I, along with so many of us, am grateful for her dedicated service and many contributions that she has brought to our organization over the years,” said Peter Ho, chairman, president and CEO of Bank of Hawaii. “I have appreciated her perspective on issues and her close connections to so many community organizations.”

Tanoue, 63, who is married to Honolulu Mayor Kirk Caldwell, has served on Bank of Hawaii’s board of directors since 2001, and as vice chairwoman and a member of the Managing Committee since 2002.

Previously, Tanoue served as chairwoman of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. in Washington, D.C., from 1998 to 2001.
