Extend your Girl Scout cookie experience this year with a visit to one of six island eateries that have limited-edition desserts dedicated to the cookie cause.
A portion of each purchase goes to the Scouts.
On Oahu, bite into a cheesecake with Thin Mint crust at Tiki’s Grill and Bar, a Do-si-Do Hula Pie at Duke’s Waikiki or an icy scoop from Via Gelato in flavors of Thin Mint, Samoa or Do-si-Do cookies.
On the Big Island, have a Mint to Be Pie at Hilo Bay Cafe or a Thin Mint mousse pie at Huggo’s Fine Dining or Lava Lava Beach Club.
Oh, and if you just want more cookies, and don’t have a Girl Scout near you, visit gshawaii.org.
PREMIUM SAKE ON THE MENU
Beachhouse at the Moana is showcasing sake in a dinner April 14.
“Taste of Sake Edition” is the year’s first in the restaurant’s Pairings series, which partners a winemaker, brew master or master distiller with a five-course menu by chef David Lukela.
The 6 p.m. dinner features five premium sakes selected by Chris Pearce, founder and CEO of World Sake.
Lukela’s Japanese-inspired dishes include king crab tempura (with Hoyo Kura No Hana “Fair Maiden”), abalone chawanmushi (with Miyasaka Yawaraka “Sake Matinee”) and grilled shortrib (with Sohomare Tokubetsu Kimoto “Heart and Soul”).
Cost is $120; reserve through Honolulu BoxOffice.com. Beachhouse, in the Moana Surfrider resort in Waikiki, has additional Pairings events scheduled for June 15 and Sept. 14.
