Hawaii County police are investigating the deaths of a man and woman — one of them a police officer — in Mountain View as a murder-suicide.
They said they went to a home in the Pacific Paradise Gardens subdivision at about 3:25 p.m. and found the bodies in the home.
They are not releasing the names of the man and woman pending official identification and notification of next of kin. Police also are not saying how the two died or whether the officer’s service weapon was involved.
An autopsy will be conducted this week to determine the exact causes of death.

Man sought in Waianae shooting
Police were searching Sunday for a man who allegedly shot a 19-year-old man, injuring him and his 20-year-old female passenger Saturday night in Waianae.
From a vehicle, the suspect used a firearm to shoot the teen, who was driving his vehicle at the time, police said.
Emergency Medical Services responded at 10:20 p.m. Saturday to the incident on Guard Street.
The 19-year-old was apparently shot in the torso, and was taken in serious condition to a trauma hospital, EMS said in a report.
The woman received an injury to her ear and was in stable condition, EMS said.
