Saint Louis beat Mid-Pacific for the second time this year, using a big first inning to down the Owls 9-6 at Damon Field.
The Crusaders (6-9) tagged MPI (12-3) starter Shion Matsushita for four runs in the first inning. Noah Tory led the way offensively with a home run and three RBIs.
Richard Vidal picked up the win for Saint Louis in 52⁄3 innings of relief with three walks, two strikeouts and nine hits with three runs allowed. Matsushita took the loss, allowing six runs with five hits and one strikeout before getting pulled in the second inning without recording an out.
Wyatt Young had a game-high three hits and three runs for the Owls.
