The Hawaii Hilo men’s golf team finished in fifth place at the Pacific West Conference championships in Litchfield Park, Ariz.
The Vulcans finished 18 over par for a team score of 882, nine shots behind first-place Dixie State.
Hawaii Pacific finished eighth and Chaminade was ninth.
UH Hilo’s Jared Kinoshita was the highest-ranked golfer from Hawaii, finishing at even par 216 and tied for fifth.
Dixie State boasted the top individual golfer as Nicklaus Britt finished 5 under 211.

Mint Chimsuti of HPU was the highest Hawaii golfer in the tournament, finishing in a tie for eighth at 13-over-par 229. HPU finished with a team score of 977 while UH-Hilo posted a score of 1061.
HPU women remain second in rankings
The Hawaii Pacific women’s tennis team remained second in the latest Oracle/ITA Division II Women’s Tennis Rankings released on Wednesday.
The Sharks are coming off a PacWest Conference championship on Saturday, and are the top seed in the NCAA Division II West Region.
Also, HPU’s Lena Lutzeier remained the No. 1 player in the country and teammate Lara Meccico moved up to No. 3.
HPU and No. 19 UC San Diego meet in the NCAA West Region 1 championship match on Saturday at 10 a.m. at the University of Hawaii Tennis Complex. The winner advances to the NCAA Division II national championships.
