Police arrested a 22-year-old man after he allegedly broke into his ex-girlfriend’s residence and assaulted her in Waikiki.
Police said the suspect unlawfully entered the residence and threatened the victim, 21, with a knife at about 6:30 a.m. Wednesday. He then allegedly physically abused her.
The suspect was arrested on suspicion of first-degree burglary, first-degree terroristic threatening and abuse of a family or household member.
Man charged with burglary
Prosecutors have charged a 50-year-old man with breaking into a residence in Manoa.
Timothy P. Deponte was charged Thursday with first-degree burglary. His bail has been set at $50,000. He is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday at Circuit Court.
Police said Deponte unlawfully entered the residence of a 39-year-old man at about 4 a.m. Tuesday.
Deponte was arrested on suspicion of burglary and drug-related offenses.
