Hawaiian Airlines started new daily nonstop flights Wednesday between Maui’s Kahului Airport and San Diego International Airport.
Flights will depart Maui at 12:40 p.m. with a 9 p.m. arrival in San Diego. The return flight departs San Diego at 7 a.m. and arrives on Maui at 9:55 a.m.
Hawaiian, which launched the new service with wide-body Boeing 767 aircraft, plans to operate the route with narrow-body Airbus A321neo aircraft as more planes are delivered.
The resumption of Maui-San Diego service complements Hawaiian’s daily nonstop flights between Honolulu and San Diego that has been offered since the summer of 2001.
Hawaiian will expand its presence in California on May 31 when it launches daily A321neo service between Honolulu and Long Beach Airport.
Dropbox settles suit over automatic renewal
OAKLAND, Calif. >> Online file sharing company Dropbox will pay $1.6 million in civil penalties and $450,000 in restitution as part of a settlement with prosecutors in California over its subscription renewal policies.
District attorneys in four counties sued, alleging the firm failed to properly notify customers using its paid Dropbox Pro service about its automatic renewal policy. Dropbox agreed to the settlement without admitting liability.

>> Catherine Ngo is the president and CEO of Central Pacific Bank. She was previously the bank’s president and chief operating officer.
>> Ginny Tiu is a pianist/philanthropist. She began playing the piano at age 3 and was discovered by Ed Sullivan two years later. Tiu has performed all over the world.
>> Loretta Luke Yajima was the chairwoman of the Board of Directors and CEO, Hawaii Children’s Discovery Center. She has since become the president of the Board of Directors.
