Brush fire briefly shuts down highway lanes

    Firemen put out a brush fire Wednesday on Farrington Highway, east of Laaloa Street between Kapolei and Ko Olina. There were traffic jams on Farrington Highway and H-1 east of the fire as a result.

    Firemen put out a brush fire on Farrington Hwy. just east of Laaloa St. between Kapolei and Ko Olina. Traffic was jammed packed on Farrington Hwy. and H-1 east of the fire, all the way back to Kapolei.

Police reopened both westbound lanes of Farrington Highway near Honokai Hale in Leeward Oahu on Wednesday after an earlier brush fire forced their closure and choked traffic in both directions. Read more
