Aloha Tour, Hawaii’s Chapter of U.S. Kids Golf, is sending 10 golfers to the U.S. Kids World Championship in Pinehurst, N.C. Hawaii’s qualifiers are Bryeen Massey, Honorine Nobuta, Kady Matsumoto, Keola Silva Jr., Ireland Roberts, Noah Villarimo, Achilles Pihi, Tyler Tamayori, Ayden Campos and Jett Magsanide.
To help pay for the trip, the Aloha Tour is holding a tournament July 6 at Hawaii Prince. Cost is $555 for a three-person team. Corporate sponsorship is also available and prize donations are being accepted.
Summer program returns to Kaanapali
Kaanapali’s “Juniors Play Free — Bring the Ohana Program” is back this summer. One junior golfer, between the ages of 7-17, can play or ride for free daily through Aug. 31 when accompanied by a paying adult on the Ka’anapali Kai Course.
A fifth set of tees was designed in 2009 specifically for kids. The par-71 Kai Course is 2,459 yards.
Juniors may also play for free (with a paying adult) on the Royal Course after 3 p.m.
