CrimeStoppers and police are seeking the public’s help in finding a man who failed to render aid following a fatal vehicle crash on the H-1 freeway.
Steven Headington, 42, is described as Caucasian, 5 feet 10 inches tall, 180 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes.
At about 4 a.m. May 21, Headington crashed his Toyota pickup truck into a concrete median on the westbound H-1 freeway near the Wilder Avenue offramp. As a result of the collision, a man in his 30s was ejected onto the roadway and later died. A woman who was in the truck also sustained serious injuries. The driver of the truck fled the scene on foot.
At the time of the incident, police were investigating what happened prior to the crash, and how the man ended up in the bed of the truck. There were reports of an initial collision between the truck and a 2018 Toyota Camry prior to the crash, and that a male passenger from the latter had jumped into the truck bed when it attempted to flee.
Headington has been identified as the driver of the Toyota.
