Honolulu police are continuing to search for a male suspect in connection with a shooting in Kailua that left a 39-year-old man with serious injuries.

The shooting occurred about 10:12 p.m. Monday outside a Keolu Drive residence in Enchanted Lake. Police said the suspect and victim were involved in an argument over a woman when the suspect shot the victim in the leg.

The suspect also shot at the victim’s head, but the bullet grazed his scalp.

Police said the assailant and victim are acquaintances.

The victim was transported to a nearby hospital in serious condition.

Police have initiated an attempted murder investigation.

2 hurt in collision with fire truck

Emergency Medical Services transported two people to a hospital after they were involved in a head-on collision in Hauula.

The crash involving a passenger vehicle and a fire truck occurred about 5:30 p.m. Tuesday near 53-549 Kamehameha Highway.

Paramedics treated a 72-year-old woman and a 7-year-old girl at the scene and transported both of them to a trauma hospital in serious condition.

Man revived after jumping into Waimea Bay

Honolulu lifeguards revived a 28-year-old man who was found unresponsive in Waimea Bay on Wednesday afternoon after he reportedly lost consciousness after a leap from the “jump rock” into the ocean.

With the assistance of witnesses at the scene, lifeguards performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation until the man’s pulse returned and he regained consciousness.

Emergency Medical Services continued with advanced life-saving treatment and transported the man to an area hospital in critical condition.
