At about 12:10 a.m., police said, a vehicle operated by a 72-year-old Honolulu man was traveling westbound on the freeway when the pedestrian, who was wearing dark clothing, walked across four lanes and was struck by the vehicle in the left lane.
The collision occurred approximately 190 feet west of the Vineyard Boulevard onramp.

Police said the driver did not sustain any injuries. Speed or alcohol were not factors in the collision.
