Diagnostic Laboratory Services Inc. said Monday it has promoted Mark Wasielewski to president as of July 1.
He will replace Richard Okazaki, who is retiring after having served as president since 2003. Under Okazaki’s leadership the company grew to $115 million in revenue from $50 million and to 709 employees from 568. Wasielewski previously served as senior vice president of technical operations.
“(Wasielewski’s) exceptional leadership skills and depth of laboratory management experience will help secure Diagnostic Laboratory Services’ position as the premier medical laboratory in Hawaii and propel us to new heights,” said Bernadette Merlino, chairwoman of the Diagnostic Laboratory board of directors.
DLS is a medical testing laboratory that specializes in forensic toxicology and substance abuse testing. The company employs more than 700 people and has locations throughout Hawaii, Saipan and Guam.
