Makaha’s Yancy Medeiros suffered an injury that will keep him from fighting on the undercard of next week’s UFC 226 pay-per-view in Las Vegas.
Medeiros (15-5, 6-5 UFC) was scheduled to fight Mike Perry in his first bout since losing in the main event of a UFC Fight Night card in February to Donald Cerrone.
Paul Felder will step in to take Medeiros’ place, the UFC confirmed Thursday. Medeiros suffered a fractured rib.
Medeiros was healthy and in good spirits when he spoke to the Star-Advertiser on June 21. He was expecting to fight for the fifth time on the same UFC card as featherweight champion Max Holloway, who defends his belt against Brian Ortega in the co-main event.
