This year’s theme, “Starry, Starry Night,” honors Polynesian voyagers who used the stars to navigate their way to the Hawaiian Islands. Members of the Polynesian Voyaging Society will be part of the event to talk about the famed vessel Hokule’a.
There will be botanical painting activities, storytelling, children’s games and crafts, balloons and bubbles, food trucks, as well as ancient Mongolian “Golden Horde” martial arts and archery exhibitions.
Entertainment on the main stage includes the Middle Eastern Dance Artists of Hawaii, West African dance and drum group Sewa Fare and the U.S. Air Force Band of the Pacific’s Hana Hou music group.
