Jonah Brub pitched a two-hitter with six strikeouts as Mililani beat Tijuana, Mexico, 10-0 in the championship game of the P.O.N.Y. Mustang-9 World Series on Monday in Walnut, Calif.
Ryeder Takahashi had three hits and two RBIs and Deagan Kawahakui added two hits and three RBIs for Mililani, which finished 4-0 in the tournament.
Mililani scored four runs in the second inning, two in the third and four in the fifth in a game shortened one inning because of the mercy rule.
Mexico had outscored its previous three opponents 48-6.
Mililani team members are: Brub, Takahashi, Kawahakui, Eleu Colburn, Trycen Kaimiola, Imipono Kala, Joey Katano, Peyton Lum, Hoshio Oyama, Jonah Parker, Eriz Passi, Timothy Villamor, manager Daniel Kawahakui and coach Clement Kaimiola.
Kegel qualifies for U.S. Senior Amateur
Clive Kegel defeated David Kawahara on the second playoff hole to win the U.S. Senior Amateur Sectional Qualifier on Monday at Pearl Country Club.
Kegel and Kawahara finished at 1-over-par 73.
Kegel will play in the U.S. Senior Amateur, which starts Aug. 25 in Eugene, Ore.
