U.S. Sen. John McCain is the true definition of an American hero. He brought honor, dignity and unity. It was his undying love for his country, the sacrifices he endured as a prisoner of war and his guiding principles that made him stand out as a true American hero.
Through McCain’s legacy, we are enjoying our freedom and living in the glory and pride in being called an American.
Like McCain, my father served in the U.S. Navy. He did many tours of duty and was stationed in Vietnam, Philippines, Washington, D.C., and at sea. Like McCain, my father wore his Navy uniform with pride, and was honored to have a military career and proud to serve his country — the United States of America.
In today’s polarization of insulting words and disgrace to our nation, we need more American heroes.
