Twenty-eight people were injured Friday after an elementary school bus apparently struck two other vehicles in Salt Lake, an Emergency Medical Services report said.
The bus was carrying 59 passengers when it crashed at about 2:30 p.m. near Lawehana Street and Bougainville Drive.
Derek Inoshita, a state Department of Education spokesman, said the bus was from Pearl Harbor Elementary.
Paramedics treated 28 patients and took them to a hospital, the EMS report said. Twenty-six of the patients were shuttled in stable condition to the hospital on the bus with paramedics also on board.
A 16-year-old boy and a 41-year-old man riding in separate vehicles were also hurt and taken in serious condition to a hospital.
2 hurt in Chinatown, downtown stabbings
Emergency Medical Services responded to two separate stabbings that occurred in Chinatown and downtown Honolulu within an hour.
The first stabbing occurred on River Street at approximately 8:15 p.m. Thursday.
Paramedics treated a 69-year-old man who sustained a stab wound to his upper body and bruises to his face.
EMS responded to the second stabbing at approximately 8:40 p.m.
Paramedics responded to Bishop Street near the 7-Eleven store where they found a 27-year-old man who also sustained a stab wound to his upper body.
