Taylor Inouye, a 12-year-old from Kailua, made the final four after Monday’s episode of “Kids Baking Championship” on the Food Network.
She created a popcorn-flavored tart, garnished with zebra-drizzled popcorn in this baseball-themed dessert round, entitled, “You’re in the Ballpark.”
The show has crossed the halfway point, with three more rounds to go in the seven- week series. It is judged by celebrity hosts actress Valerie Bertinelli and Duff Goldman, a pastry chef known for his “Ace of Cakes” Food Network show.
Taylor, in her first-ever competition, was one of nine original contestants, ages 10 to 13, in the popular show’s fifth season. She started off strong, scoring the top prize in the first round with her selfie-inspired eclairs, creating a colorful tie-dye design, and came in second in the two following episodes.
Follow her progress at 6 p.m. Mondays.
