The makai lane of of Ala Wai Boulevard between Lewers and Launiu streets will be closed between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Tuesday while a contractor for Hawaiian Electric Co. probes for existing utilities at the intersection of Ala Wai Boulevard and Kaioulu Street, according to HECO.
The work is part of construction to install new 46-kilovolt cables under the Ala Wai Canal, the utility said. There will be marked traffic signs and cones to alert motorists to the closure.
