HALLOWEEN HOOP KITTY
SUPPLIES NEEDED
>> 4-inch wooden embroidery hoop
>> Black eyelash yarn – hoku style or similar
>> Two strips of 3/4-inch-by-6-inch black cardstock
>> Glitter chenille stems
>> 1-inch-by-1-inch piece of orange Foamie foam sheet
>> Ribbon
>> Low-temperature glue gun and glue sticks or bottle glue
>> Scissors
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Fold the two strips of black cardstock in half to make two narrow strips.
2. Fold the strips in half lengthwise to make the tip of the ear. Then, make folds 1 inch from each end.
3. Tie the eyelash yarn to one end of the strip at the 1-inch fold mark.
4. Wrap the yarn around the cardstock until the other 1-inch mark, then tie and cut off. Repeat steps with the other strip.
5. Hold the embroidery hoop with the screw at the top. Position the ears on either side of the screw and affix with glue.
6. Working with small lengths of yarn, tie one end of the yarn to the hoop and wrap yarn around the entire hoop.
7. Cut a small heart from the orange foam sheet.
8. Cut silver chenille stems in half. You will only use three halves.
9. Twist the chenille stems together at the center. Glue orange heart to center of silver stems.
10. Glue the ends of the silver whiskers to the yarn-wrapped hoop.
11. Make a bow and glue it to the bottom of the hoop. Tie a short piece of ribbon to the screw to make a hanger.
