The National Weather Service in Honolulu issued a flash flood watch for the entire state from Thursday through Saturday evening.
Forecasters said that moist air and unstable atmosphere will combine to bring the possibility of flooding rains. “The chance of flooding will be greatest from Oahu to the Big Island. The heaviest rainfall is likely during the afternoon hours,” they said Thursday.
A watch means that conditions are favorable for flash flooding, which can be life-threatening, they warned, adding “do not cross fast-flowing water in your vehicle or on foot.”
