Jamin Fonesca’s goal in the 30th minute gave Chaminade a 1-0 victory over Biola at Saint Louis Field on Saturday.
The Silverswords improved to 2-3-1, 2-2-1 in the PacWest. Biola drops to 5-6-2 and 3-2.
>> In the women’s match, Randi Fontes scored Chaminade’s only goal in the 58th minute to tie the game, but Biola’s goal from Madi deMestropolis in overtime with three minutes left won it for the Eagles, 2-1.
The Silverswords fell to 1-6-1 and 0-4-1 in the PacWest. The Eagles improved to 6-3-3 and 4-0-1.
Wahine cross country finishes eighth
The University of Hawaii’s women’s cross country team finished eighth in the open division of the Santa Clara Bronco Invitational on Saturday.
Sophomore Sienna Santiago was the top Rainbow Wahine finisher (22nd overall) with a 6k time of 22:35.53. UH senior Danielle Girard finished 34th overall with a time of 22:54.9.
The Wahine logged 212 points, with an average time of 23:10.62.
