The University of Hawaii coed sailing team finished in second place, while the Rainbow Wahine took 15th at the 29th annual Stoney Burke Intersectional held Saturday and Sunday at Clipper Cove off of Treasure Island in San Francisco Bay.
For the UH coed team, Michael Pacholski and Devon Stapleton sailed in the A division, and Patrick Wilkinson and Danielle Ahir competed in the B division. UH recorded 85 points over the 24 races, 20 points behind champion UC Santa Barbara.
The Rainbow Wahine scored 329 points and were led by Annika Garrett and Me gan Lucas in the A division, while Hayden Lahr, Kelly Sojka and Megan Zamzow sailed in the B.
Vulcans sweep Concordia in volleyball
Bria Beale led Hawaii Hilo with 14 kills and the Vulcans picked up a straight-sets win over Concordia-Irvine, 25-21, 25-18, 25-23, on Sunday at Vulcan Gymnasium in Hilo.
Alexandria Parisian added 11 kills, while teammate Ashton Jessee recorded 10 for the Vulcans (13-5, 9-3 PacWest). Cambria Fernandez had a team-high 10 kills in the loss for Concordia-Irvine (7-15, 6-8).
