Police have opened a murder investigation after the body of a 22-year-old man was found in the Tantalus area.
Police said a passerby found the unresponsive victim shortly before 3:20 p.m. Sunday. Emergency Medical Services responded and the man was pronounced dead.
The next day, police reclassified the case to second-degree murder from an unattended death after suspicious injuries were discovered on the victim’s body.
Teen pedestrian struck on Farrington Highway
A 14-year-old female pedestrian struck by a vehicle in Waianae on Tuesday afternoon received “advanced lifesaving medical care,” according to Emergency Medical Services personnel.
EMS said the teen was struck at about 2:30 p.m. at Farrington Highway and Kaulokalani Place, and she sustained head, leg and arm injuries. The girl was taken in serious condition to a hospital.
No further information was immediately available.
