Genki Sushi reaches $4.5M settlement over hepatitis outbreak

    Employees cleaned the Genki Sushi store in Aiea after the state Health Department announced that scallops served at the restaurant chain were the probable cause of a hepatitis A outbreak.

Genki Sushi, the source of a hepatitis A outbreak in 2016, has reached a preliminary settlement of up to $4.5 million for people who were secondarily exposed to the virus linked to tainted scallops sold at Hawaii restaurants. Read more
