    Developed by Lyon Arboretum’s Bob Hirano, this fragrant sterile hybrid ginger will not set seed and is less invasive than other varieties; blue “ginger” is seen in the background. Horticulture can help us garden happily while protecting our pristine rainforests from weedy invasive plants.

Gingers are “heavy feeders” and benefit from rich compost soil and regular watering. Like most flowering plants, they will bloom best in full sun. Read more
