The Hawaii Hilo women’s soccer team scored four first-half goals in a 4-0 win over Notre Dame de Namur on Thursday in Belmont, Calif.
Maleni Avalos (3:06), Tiera Arakawa (25:11), Carlie Reader (33:32, PK) and Hedda Bjerklund (43:27) contributed to the Vulcans’ season high. Hilo improved to 9-4-2 overall and 6-3-1 in the PacWest.
The Argos dropped to 4-13, 3-7.

Senior Bradley Doyle scored the Vulcans’ lone goal at 53:25 off an assist from junior Pedro Werneck.
The Vulcans fell to 4-11, 3-7 PacWest, while the Argonauts improved to 5-10-2, 4-5-1.
Vulcans golfer Kinoshita honored
Hawaii Hilo senior golfer Jared Kinoshita was named PacWest men’s golfer of the week, the conference announced Thursday.
Kinoshita, of Bakersfield, Calif., shot a program-record 11-under-par 205 to claim the individual title at the Dennis Rose Invitational at the Waikoloa Kings’ Course. The Vulcans won the 15-team tournament by seven strokes.
This is the second weekly honor for Kinoshita, who won it on Sept. 27.
Chaminade volleyball wins in 4
Alana Handy and Rachel Reedy both finished with 12 kills and Claire Zanon added 11 as the Chaminade volleyball team beat Point Loma 22-25, 27-25, 25-22, 25-23 on Thursday at McCabe Gym.
Skyler Curry recorded 27 assists and Danielle Wiley added 23 for the Silverswords (21-4, 15-4 PacWest).
Jaime Cymbaluk had 17 kills for the Sea Lions (16-10, 13-6).
